TODD DUFAULT MARCHING ACADEMY
I am offering a brand new opportunity in 2026 for HS Marching Bands that I am extremely excited about.
As I reflect back on my 42 years with Marching Band students, the real joy has always come from the process and the relationships you build. A blessing for many years. So grateful for all of my band director friends. My time with my father at Waseca HS (MN) for many years and my time as the visual instructor / leadership coach with the Rosemount HS Marching Band (MN) for 13 years provided me some great insight in how to get the RESULTS you want. It’s all about the kids. There is no magical dust, it’s relationships, trust, consistency, accountability, hard work, belief, teamwork, commitment and 1% better everyday.
Every program has new marchers every year and marchers that need more attention. This is where I WANT to help. Take the stress off of the directors and help prepare the new members before they even begin the marching band season.
I am a former HS basketball coach. It’s all about off-season development.
So what makes the Todd Dufault Marching Academy unique?
I will come to the students. I will come directly to your school. I can make the biggest impact on the students by providing multiple sessions during the off-season. I would love to work with students that have never marched before or students that may struggle with the fundamentals. I believe marching is an attitude and a mindset. With the proper tools and belief, anyone can develop into a GREAT marcher. That is my expertise. 42 years of building up students, getting the most out of them and getting them to understand that THEY CAN DO IT. Marching Band is suppose to be fun. I want to help bring FUN into an activity that has changed my life. FUN THROUGH EXCELLENCE.
How many sessions, time and the cost?
$1,995 for 6 sessions. Expenses included if located within 300 miles of North Branch, Mn.
Each session is 90 minutes of fundamental training, building belief and molding a positive mindset. The band directors will select the dates and times. I will come anytime. It could be before school, after school or during the weekend. Whatever works best for the students. What has worked well in the past? Spreading out the sessions from February - May. After the 6 sessions, the new members of your marching band will be prepared for a great first season.
One of the things I started at Rosemount High School was off-season training for the new students that have never marched. If you have a 9-12 program, then the focus would be for the current 8th graders are eligible for your program in the summer. If you are a 7-12 program, then it would be for current 6th graders. When I was a HS basketball coach, I would encourage my players to commit to an off-season skills development trainer or I would bring in trainers that focused on skill development. It was a game changer for the program. Same concept. Like most things, the better you become at something the more you like it and the more fun it is.
Please email me for more detailed information and any questions. I would love to make a difference in your program.
